Favorite things to cook/bake: Casseroles, quiche, and pasta with chickpeas for savoury things. Cakes for sweet things, though I haven't made any desserts in a good long time lately. Favorite regional dishes: Lefse, blue moon ice cream, puppy chow, casseroles--hi, I'm midwestern. :D I also really like knishes, shwarma, pad thai, gnocchi, koshary, the list goes on. OH, AND CHEESE. Special diet recipe favorites (ie vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, low fat): I often cook things that can be made vegetarian fairly easily, because they're generally foods that my family makes at home, and one of my sisters is vegetarian. I'll add this to almost any dish: GARLIC. :D Beginner, advanced, or somewhere in between: Maybe intermediate? I know how to cook, and I can improvise a bit, but I'm not making particularly difficult recipes. Something I learned the hard way: When the recipe says to put in a full half-tablespoon of Old Bay, THAT IS PROBABLY WAY TOO MUCH OLD BAY. Greatest cooking/baking triumph: I don't know about greatest, but I did make a really good beef stew a week or two ago! I was very proud of myself, because I've never cooked with beef other than ground beef before. Something I haven't done yet but I'd like to try: I'd like to grill, but it's currently prohibitively expensive and I'm a little afraid of fire. ^^;; But it's on the list! Other things I'd like to share: I haven't posted more than one recipe in recent times on my journal, but I'm planning to post them more often in the future.
